San Pedro Ranch offers a variety of hunting opportunities.
As with most South Texas ranches, deer hunting is the ranch's main focus when it
comes to hunting.
Sandy loam soils support a variety of native grasses, forbes, and browse. San Pedro Ranch provides hunting blinds; some have feeders and open senderos. All hunts are guided, but allow hunters the choice of blind hunting or stalking.
The San Pedro has been under intensive deer management for over 20 years.
Half the blinds have gravity or automatic
feeders. The other blinds are corned regularly during the hunting
season. If you do not wish to hunt out of a blind there are many roads on
the ranch which can be easily driven, or you can walk hunt.
The ranch has a Managed Land Permit which
enables the us to start hunting bucks and does at the beginning of October until the end of February. This enables the deer population to be properly managed in a
humane way. Through the proper management of the deer herd over the last
two decades this ranch has been able to produce some outstanding bucks.
